Why treating pigmentation without daily SPF quietly undoes the work

Why treating pigmentation without daily SPF quietly undoes the work

Most of the pigmentation sitting on Australian faces was written into the skin years before it surfaced, built up slowly by sun exposure over time. That is worth knowing, because it explains the one part of pigmentation care people most often skip.

Fading and preventing are the same job

Regular resurfacing facials can help refresh the surface and support a brighter, more even-looking complexion over time. But UV keeps prompting the skin to make new pigment. Without daily SPF, that new pigment keeps building while you work on the old, so results stall and it feels like nothing is working.

Daily SPF is not the finishing touch to pigmentation care. It is half the actual treatment. Fading what is already there and blocking what would quietly replace it are two sides of the same task, and doing only one is why progress stalls.

Why results are gradual, and why we say so

At Skin Biology we take a non-invasive, science-led approach, using resurfacing facials and fractional RF to support a more even-looking complexion. We assess your skin individually, results are gradual and vary between people, and we will not promise to remove pigmentation completely - that would not be honest.

One thing to sort out first

Before any cosmetic treatment, any spot that is new, changing, itchy or unusual should be checked by a GP or skin-cancer clinic. Your safety comes first, always.

If uneven tone has been on your mind, the clearest place to start is a proper look at your skin in person, so any plan is built around what your skin actually needs.
