Why a hydrodermabrasion glow doesn't last on its own

If a facial leaves your skin glowing for a day or two before it looks dull again, the treatment probably isn't the issue - what happens afterwards usually is.

Why the glow fades

Hydrodermabrasion works by exfoliating away the build-up of dull, dead surface skin while infusing moisture and serums in the same pass - which is why many people notice an instant, fresher-looking glow straight after a session. But newly hydrated skin still loses water to the air around it, and unless something in your routine seals that moisture in afterwards, it evaporates back out just as quickly as it went in.

What keeps it going

Sealing that moisture in is the part that actually decides whether the glow holds. The facial resurfaces and rehydrates; a suitable moisturiser and routine at home lock that moisture into the skin between visits. Skip the sealing step and the glow has nowhere to stay, no matter how good the facial was.

This is also why regular facials and the right home routine are treated as a pair, not a one-off fix - and why a routine built around your specific dull and dehydrated skin, rather than a generic one, makes more difference than the facial alone.
