The pigmentation question we ask before we treat: has this mark been checked?

Before we recommend anything for uneven tone or sun spots, we ask one question first: has this mark been checked by a GP? It sounds like an odd place to start a skin treatment, but it is the clearest example of what 'non-invasive, never overdone' means in practice at Skin Biology.

Screening comes before cosmetics

Any pigmentation that is new, changing, itchy or unusual needs a GP or skin-cancer clinic to look at it before we touch it cosmetically. This is not a disclaimer we add for legal cover - it is the first real step of a pigmentation plan. Skin that has been sun-affected for years can show both cosmetic pigmentation and marks worth a medical opinion, and only a GP can tell the two apart.

Once it's cleared, the conversation changes

Before a GP looks at a mark, the only question that matters is whether it's safe to treat. Once it's cleared as cosmetic, the conversation shifts to what will actually help - see pigmentation for the common causes behind uneven tone. From there we assess your skin individually rather than assuming every dull or patchy complexion needs the same approach, and set a realistic plan around what's actually driving yours.

What we can honestly promise

For sun-driven dullness and uneven tone, regular resurfacing facials and fractional RF can support a brighter, more even-looking complexion over time, alongside daily SPF. We do not promise to remove pigmentation - non-invasive treatment works gradually, and results vary from person to person. That gap between what sounds impressive and what is actually true is exactly what 'never overdone' is protecting.

If you have a patch of uneven tone or a spot you are unsure about, start with a proper look rather than a guess. Book a skin consultation and we will tell you honestly what it is and what, if anything, it needs.
